Hello, and welcome to the bullpen. You may be curious as to where the name came about for this blog. Well, the title of this blog will be explained and make more sense as new blog posts are introduced. I was drafted by the Seattle Mariners out of high school in the 1999 MLB draft. Instead of signing with them right away, I went on to play college baseball and that got off to a very promising start. But two arm injuries and two arm surgeries later, my career was over short of my goal of playing in the big leagues. Once my baseball career ended, I had an empty feeling for awhile because that is what I had put so much time and effort into for so many years. Now, I am just an ordinary guy that has a wonderful family and a job that I love. I am a high school baseball coach and a high school principal. We also live on a farm and raise cattle, chickens, a dog, and a cat. I have a lot of hobbies and passions, but the most important passion I have is Jesus Christ. That is the central focal point of this blog. The things that are discussed on here will all be centered in some way around Christ. I have had ups and downs in my spiritual journey and some of those things will be shared in this blog. I have a wonderful wife that I have been married to for 17 years. Our spiritual journey has not always been easy, and neither has raising our three children. But, because of both of us having faith in God, our relationship with each other, our children, and most importantly with God, has never been better. I am not an expert of anything, but I am a sinner saved by God’s grace and mercy that is not ashamed to share what I have learned along the way in hopes of helping people, just as others have helped me!!!
